Writing Luke 22

Good morning, what a chapter…. There are so many things that I want to bring out from this chapter but if I do you will loose interest and just click to something else. Since my point is to try to get you to look to the Word of God that wouldn’t be good.

Since tomorrow’s chapter will clearly be about Jesus. I think I will talk about the poor confused disciples. As I read these verses I can see where they are confused, thinking of an earthly kingdom. A kingdom that is clearly coming soon Jesus even tells them that they will need some swords in verse 36. I think they were dismissing the times that Jesus spoke about His suffering.

As Jesus went to pray on the Mount of Olives, He tells them to pray that they may not enter into temptation. In my imagination, I can’t help but see the disciples saying a quick prayer then resting as He is ahead praying earnestly with all his body and soul.

Sadly, in my prayer life this is probably more true that I want to admit. I am not a good prayer. I have always struggled with it. As Jesus is the mediator between us and God, I can picture Him pleading with the Lord on my behalf. To take my simple prayer and look into my heart and show the Father what I really meant to say. I know that I will continue to try to work on it as time goes by. I do need to take Jesus’ words to heart and truly pray that I may not enter into temptation. Especially, when I know that at the time He said it, He was suffering, as He was beginning His journey, to give his life as a sacrifice for all of us.

I sure hope everyone is having a great day!!
