Writing Luke 23
Good morning, I sure hope everyone takes the time to read todays chapter. Even better to look back at all four accounts of Jesus’ death. As I write each of these accounts I get caught up in it just a bit more. So often we read things over and over and sometimes we don’t take the time to really see and feel what we should. I need to slow down each day and remember what Jesus has done for us all.
Back to the reading….. As I was writing about what the Lord was going through, I seen how he continued to talk and teach when He needed to. Even as He died, some who didn’t believe finally seen who He was. In Luke we don’t get a full picture of why the people in verses 47-48 finally believed:
“Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!” And all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home beating their breasts.”
If we look back at all four accounts of what happened, this is what they seen as Jesus died:
- There was darkness over all the land for about 3 hours
- The curtain of the temple was torn from the top to the bottom
- The whole earth shook, rocks split
- Tombs were opened and bodies of the saints rose from the tombs and appeared to many
- Jesus cried out then died……
If you were there and witnessed this, it would definitely make you realize that what had taken place was more than just another death.
Guess what He died this death for you.
God is so Good!!
I sure hope you are having a wonderful day!!
