Writing Psalm 132, 133, 134, and 135

Good morning…

“The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of human hands.
They have mouths, but do not speak; they have eyes, but do not see;
they have ears, but do not hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths.
Those who make them become like them, so do all who trust in them.”

Psalm 135:15-18

This is not the first time we see this said in the Psalms. We seen verses very similar in Psalm 115:

“Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands.
They have mouth, but do not speak; eyes, but do not see.
They have ears, but do not hear; noses, but do not smell.
They have hands, but do not feel; feet, but do not walk;
and they do not make a sound in their throat.
Those who make they become like them; so do all who trust in them.”

psalm 115:4-8

Today, I may say, ‘I don’t worship idols’, ‘I don’t have a statue that I worship, or that I serve’.. But there are so many things that I devote my time to. Things that get stuck in my mind and I can’t think of anything else. It might be a project I am working on, a show I have been binge watching, or even a game on my phone. Whatever it is, when it interferes with true life, then it interferes with my relationship with God. When I think of it more than God, or more than making a call to someone who needs it, when I put it before my Bible study, then it is a problem. It is hard to believe that I may put these things before showing love to God or to one of His children, but I do. This ol’ world creeps into my heart. It is always a battle to keep it out. I sure am glad I have the Lord on my side to push it back out again.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!

  1. Good read. It’s so easy to let our minds wander to worldly issues and wants. I needed to be reminded of this. Thank you sweet sister!!πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ»
