Writing Job 22

Good morning.

O’ Eliphaz…. The title my bible gives this section is ‘Eliphaz Speaks: Job’s Wickedness is Great’. Eliphaz speaks what he believes to be true.

“For you have exacted pledges of your brothers for nothing and stripped the naked of their clothing. You have given no water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.”

Job 22:6-7

Where does Eliphaz get his truth? It was very common for them to believe that if bad happened to you then it was because you didn’t do right by God. If you sinned then God punished you. If you were evil then God punished you. After seeing what was happening to Job, surely he sinned. Surely he did unimaginable things to deserve so much pain and suffering at one time. It was easy to ‘assume’ that Job mistreated those who were under him.

Assuming…. This is one of the biggest lessons that I see in this book. How easy is it to make assumptions about other people, when I don’t have full details of a situation? I find myself doing this often and have to catch myself. I am sure there are times I don’t catch myself and my mouth runs too much. Hopefully in the future, I can see when my assumptions are running away with my thoughts and catch it before I share my assumptions (my version) with someone else. After all, assumption is an easy way of saying lies.

I am so thankful for God sending His Son so that I can have forgiveness of my sins.

God is so Good!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
