Writing 1 Peter 2
Good morning. I hope that you take the time to read this chapter, there are several good points that I wanted to share but I try to keep it short. 🙂
I decided to focus on this verse:
Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation– if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
1 peter 2:2-3
Peter points out that like a newborn baby longs for milk, I need to long for the pure spiritual milk, the word of God. In my day to day, I am surrounded by things that are material and not spiritual. It is so easy to focus on those things around me that I can see and touch. I have to go out of my way to focus on the Lord. I have to open my Bible, I have to go into prayer, I have to take the time to meditate on His Word. But this verse says I should ‘long’ for the pure spiritual milk. I have noticed that as I go through this journey of writing the new testament, my longing for the Word has grown. I look forward to doing this each morning. I also think about the scriptures throughout the day, so I feel like it is staying with me more. My hope is to continue to find ways to long for the spiritual milk.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
