Writing 1 Peter 1
Good morning. I am so thankful to be starting yet another book in the New Testament. Like the book of James, 1 Peter is also written to Christians who are in exile during the time of the Dispersion. The people were going through terrible times because of their faith. As we read these books, we can see what the Holy Spirit thought they needed to stay focused, to stay strong.
I love how this chapter ends:
Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for
1 Peter 1:22-25
“all flesh is like grass
and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord remains forever.”
And this word is the good news that was preached to you.”
I can always know that what ever I go through on this earth that the Word of God is forever. I can always know that I have been born again of imperishable seed. That means that as the flower falls and fades away, those who were born again will not perish away.
God is so Good!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
