Squirrels in the attic (1/21/2023)

Waking up to squirrels. I can hear them running through the attic. Crazy squirrels. Poor Rufus, my not so brave dog, looking up at the ceiling. A look on his face that says, ‘Mom, make them stop’ or ‘Mom, don’t let them get me’. My poor Rufus. Patrick, the cat, doesn’t pay any attention to them. He just continues to sleep. Poor squirrels are just trying to find a warm place to stay. Sadly, they will be evicted soon.

Another week of writing God’s word. I am so thankful I decided to do this. My hope, if I don’t succeed at anything else, I help others know it is possible. Yesterday, I decided to see how long it took me to write Matthew chapter 15. It has 39 verses in it. It took me 41 minutes and 42 seconds. The reason I did this is because I wanted to give others an idea of how long it takes for approximately one chapter, for an average person. I would consider myself average. So, now I know how much time to give myself, and you do too. I know that I won’t always have that much time in my morning, but I always try to get some time in each day. Since I decided not to force myself to set limits there may be some days that I only get in 10 verses. But that is ok. I am allowing myself flexibility in this.

This week has been a bit more challenging with my body. For those who don’t know, I have autoimmune issues. One of them is Fibromyalgia. Some days are better than others. But a doctor told me a long time ago, ‘don’t stop moving’. This has stayed with me and I try to always keep going. I try to keep this in mind in all of my life, spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and in all. Keep Going…. The bible also teaches this…

The Lord holds me always on good days and not so good days.

Look out for the SQUIRRELS!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

  1. Time in the word is so important. I’m reading my One Year Bible. Hope it’s warmer when the squirrels are evicted. And thanks for the reminders to keep keeping on.

    1. Sadly, it will be cold. If we wait till it is warm then they will multiply and possibly get abandoned during eviction. So, I am hoping to get it done before they begin to multiply.

  2. Great post! Beautiful black cat…I have a female that looks like yours…her name is Midnight. The difference is that Midnight will hunt the squirrel and kill it. She is a hunter cat! Also, I didn’t know you had fibromylagia. I do know that it is painful. You may want to check out the youtube channel “Living on a Dime.” Tawra and her mom, Jill, suffer from fibromylagia and Tawra did some videos sharing what she does to help live with it and relieve some of the symptoms. Hope you check her out and that you may find some ideas in what you can do to get some relief. Take care.

    1. Thanks Deborah, I will check it out. Patrick will hunt but he has been stuck in the house because he has been sick. He is feeling better but is still grounded until I feel he is much better.
      Thanks again.
