Writing Romans 1
Good morning, the start of a new book.
Paul wrote this book, the same Saul/Paul we read about in Acts, that finally made his way to Rome. Now we get to hear what the Holy Spirit has to say through Paul. This letter is to the Christians in Rome.
As I got to the verses 18 and following, I was saddened as he was writing about the unrighteousness of men. As I wrote, I seen all of the words that are used to describe them and some of these descriptive words hit close to home. The words either described me at times or described those who I have known. These are people who knew the truth but made a choice not to follow the Lord. Not only did they not follow the Lord but they went against Him and their ‘hearts were darkened‘.
Some of these descriptive words:
dishonorable passions, unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice, envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness, gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.
I need to keep my heart guarded so that it never gets darkened. Does that mean I won’t sin? No, I am human. But Lord will continue to wash me as I continue to follow Him.
God is so Good!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
