Writing Revelation

Good morning!! That is right there is exclamation marks. I am excited. Why am I excited? #1 I get to start writing my favorite book of the Bible, Revelation. #2 It is the last book in the New Testament, so once I finish it, I will have written the entire New Testament in 2023. It was hard not to start the book over the weekend. But I was able to contain myself till this morning.

As I was writing, I was still so excited that when I reached the last verse of the chapter, I was ready to write more. I almost went on to the 2nd chapter, but I fought the urge and will save it for tomorrow. I cannot explain the way I feel about this book or even why I feel that way. I also don’t pretend to understand the full meaning of the book of Revelation. But since I started reading the Bible, this book always motivated me to read more. I have even found that when I get into a rut and don’t have a desire to read my Bible, I will go back and read this book. I have been known to even read the Bible backwards so that I can start with the book of Revelation.

I know I could go on and on, but let me get back to today’s reading…. Chapter one of Revelation:

This book is the revelation of Jesus Christ, which was given to John to share. There is one very important thing to understand from this first chapter. John says:

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.”

Revelation 1:17-18

Who is Jesus? He is the first and the last. He was here in the beginning and will be here till the end. And He is the one who has the keys to everlasting life. What a wonderful gift we are given if we choose to receive it.

Also, when I read the verse, I see John bowed down in complete submission at the sight of Jesus, then I see Jesus gently laying His right hand on John. A gentle touch of reassurance. I am hoping to have this gentle touch on me someday. It will be an Awesome Day to see Jesus in all His glory.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!

  1. Wow Jennifer!! I just read your thoughts from chapter 5 and read back to when you started Revelation. I had no idea this book is your favorite!! I guess I find it a real challenge to understand. Thanks for taking the time this year to share your thoughts along with your writing!! 💕🙏🏻

    1. Thanks Pebble, I don’t understand it all myself and neither did John. But I love to read it and understand what I can. I have read this book more than all of the others. Thanks for reading my thoughts.
