Writing Luke 4 (3/13/2023)

Good morning. I hope you had a great weekend. Monday is here again and I am back doing my writing. Chapter 4 starts out with Jesus being tempted in the wilderness. The second temptation struck me the most as I wrote.

“And the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, and said to him, “To you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” And Jesus answered him, “it is written, “‘ you shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.'”

I think this is such a big temptation today. I think I can control the little world around me. Isn’t it mine after all? My house, my car, my stuff. It is all mine. This temptation is such a slippery slope. I think I can balance it all.. But I cannot. Does all of this stuff get in the way of worshiping my Lord? We are all offered a little piece of Satan’s world, do we take it? Who do we worship? What do we worship?

Jesus, who is perfect was able to fight against all temptation.

I am so thankful for Jesus. He gives me strength and forgiveness where I am weak. He gives purity when I have none. He makes my imperfection, perfection.

God is so Good.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday.
