Writing Galatians 2
Good morning, In this chapter Paul is laying some groundwork so that the people know who he is and how he got there. In this he brings up a situation that happened. A situation that if I am not careful can find myself in.
“But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party. And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.”
One thing that really caught my attention was, ‘Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.’ I may be surprised at how easily I can allow things to influence my beliefs and actions. That is why it is so important to stay focused on who I am following. I think it is natural for us to go along with our surroundings, it is harder to stand firm against them. May the Lord keep me strong in times of weakness. May I keep myself surrounded by the Word of God.
