Writing Acts 8
Good morning. When looking over this chapter, I began to think about the hearts of the men mentioned here. Saul’s heart of persecuting the Church, Simon’s heart of desiring the gift of God, and the Ethiopian Eunuch’s heart as he read and wanted to follow the Lord’s will. Our physical heart is such a strong vessel in our body, but even more important is our mind, our spiritual heart. It controls both our physical and spiritual body. When it is weak both our body and mind are weak.
We will hear more about Saul later. But with Simon, when his heart was weak, he repented and asked Peter and John to pray for him. When the Eunuch’s heart needed more understanding he asked for it, then asked to be baptized.
I need to feed my heart with the Word of God, nourish the relationship through prayer, and exercise with works of God, to keep my heart healthy.
