Writing 1 Thessalonians 1
Good morning. A letter to the Thessalonians from Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy. Of course the letter starts off with sweet greetings and thanks. Paul is so good about that.
I want to bring attention to the latter part of verse 9 and 10:
“and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.”
There is so much information in those verses.
It shows: how no matter what I am following right now, I can turn and serve the ‘living and true God’. No matter how lost I may be I can find God.
It shows: they were waiting for God’s Son from heaven, ‘whom he raised from the dead’. I too should be waiting for Jesus to come back for me. Jesus that died and God raised Him from the dead.
It show: ‘Jesus will deliver us from the wrath to come’. Who will he deliver? Those who ‘serve the living and true God’. I don’t want to suffer the wrath to come. I want to serve Him and meet up in heaven with them both, God the Father and Jesus the Son. Won’t you come too?
