Writing 1 Kings
Good afternoon… I thought I was over this virus last Thursday but by the evening, it hit me hard… Here I am on Monday and finally my mind is clearer. My sinuses are not, but my mind is. 🙂
“Then it was told Solomon, “Behold, Adonijah fears King Solomon, for behold, he has laid hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear to me first that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.'” And Solomon said, “If he will show himself a worthy man, not one of his hairs shall fall to the earth, but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.” So King Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and paid homage to King Solomon, and Solomon said to him, “Go to your house.”
1 Kings 1:51-53
As we see the first act that was recorded of King Solomon, we see the mercy he has for his brother. He could have had him killed and no one would have thought anything about it. Afterall, Adonijah tried to take the kingdom out from under him. But we see that Solomon gives him this chance to prove that he is a servant and not wicked.
I can learn so much from these men in the Bible.
Try to read a few verses from the Bible today!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
