Writing Acts 20
Good morning, I always like to use scripture to guide me in my day to day life. Well today I was pricked a bit. As I was writing along, I got to verse 27:
“for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.”
Oh boy, I have slipped on this one. There have been so many times that I should have talked about Jesus to someone and I didn’t. So many times, I stopped short and could have said more but I didn’t. I cannot change these from my past but I can do a bit better in my future. As I read/write and study more about the word of God, I learn a bit more and it may be easier in the future. Maybe some day Jesus’ words will be so natural that I will not struggle when I try to share with others. Maybe fear and doubt will not enter my mind. Or maybe I will always have to work hard at this and struggle.
For me these words are easier on paper/computer than they are in person. I can write them and erase and rewrite. In person, once things are said they cannot be rewritten. I have a tendency to get my words twisted up and not use the correct names or places. But the most important name to know is Jesus and his sacrifice is not hard to explain. That is the easy part yet I still ‘shrink to declare’ the words. I am a work in progress.
