Writing Revelation 3
Good morning. I have trouble separating chapter 2 and 3 from each other because these are all words that the Lord is giving to the seven churches. One thing that I notice in all of these is the description of the Lord at the beginning of each section.
Who is the Lord?
- He holds the seven stars in his right hand, and walks among the seven golden lampstands (churches)
- He is the first and the last, who died and came to life
- He has the sharp two-edged sword
- He is the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and whoes feet are like burnished bronze
- He has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars
- He is the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens
- He is the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation
Also I notice that we are told what will happen to those who conquers in following His words:
- Those who conquer will recieve some of the hidden manna, and will receive a white stone, with a new name written on the stone that one one knows except the one who receives it
- The conqueror will receive authority over the nations, and will rule them with a rod of iron. He will receive the morning star
- The conqueror will be clothed in white garments, and will never be blotted out of the book of life. His name will be confessed by the Lord before the Father and his angels
- The conqueror will be a pillar in the temple of God. On him will be written the name of God, the name of the city of God and the Lord’s new name
- The conqueror will be granted to sit with the Lord on His throne as He sits with the Father
So for all of those reading please follow these words that are repeated 7 times to the 7 churches:
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
As he writes to the church in Laodicea:
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20
