Writing Psalm 51

Good morning…

For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it;
you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise.

Psalm 51:16-17

These verses make me think of Paul, like David, Paul was pricked to the heart about his past deeds. You can see it in his writings. Paul worked so hard for the rest of his life to bring people to Christ. I need to be pricked in my heart. I have to have a broken spirit in order for it to be fixed, cleaned, healed.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.”

Psalm 50:10-12

I want to be fixed, I need to be clean in order to be close to God. My only way to be clean is through Jesus. I am so thankful that we are given such a wonderful gift.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
