Writing Psalm 44
Good morning… There were times when David didn’t feel God’s presence.
“Awake! why are you sleeping, O Lord? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever!
Psalm 44:23-26
Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?
For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly clings to the ground.
Rise up; come to our help! Redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love!”
Things were not going as David had hoped. His foes were getting the best of him and his men, and he didn’t know why. There are times in my life that things are not going well. But like David I can continue to cry out to the Lord, I may not feel Him, but He is still there. Just as He was for David. Let me not forget to continue to reach for Him in my time of trials in this world.
