Writing Philippians 3

Good morning. What a great chapter. I find Philippians a bit more uplifting over all, reminding me of things that I may not think about as often as I should.

Paul says:

“But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Paul had so many things that he was not proud of that he had done in the past. Could you imagine being one of the people who stood by as a Christian was being stoned to death, and approving of it? Paul had to deal with his past daily. I love that he gives us words of wisdom to be able to do that. ‘Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead’. He did not let his past actions control his future. If anything he used it to move him forward.

What is he moving forward to? What do I want to move forward to?

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enable him even to subject all things to himself.”

A heavenly home with our Savior and our Father in heaven, is what Paul was looking forward to. That is what I am looking forward to, too. I want you to come too.

I sure hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
