Writing Philippians 1
Good morning, I get the pleasure of starting another book today. Can you guess who wrote it? Paul, another book from Paul. As usual I start writing only to read how much Paul cared for these people. He says it is because their partnership in the gospel. It is interesting how I never paid much attention of how much love Paul had for those whom he wrote. This is another reason I am glad I chose to slow down and write the Bible.
I love the outlook Paul has on life and death.
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.”
Paul was ready to go be with Jesus, but he also seen the good that he could do if he stayed alive. The souls he could save was of great importance to him.
I have often made comments to others that death isn’t bad. One might say they were glad to be alive, it is better than the alternative. I might respond, ‘I like the alternative’. Or another response, ‘What is the worse that could happen, I might die’.
Someone very close to me often says, “For it to get any better someone is gonna have to kill me”. This is a common thought he and I have. We feel death will be wonderful because we will finally see Jesus. All of this suffering on this earth will be gone.
But Paul does bring us to remembrance that when we are gone so will our influence of bringing Christ to others. We do not know when our time on this earth will be. Hopefully, as I am here my light will shine and those around me will see Christ and in turn they too can meet in heaven.
God is so Good!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
