Writing Numbers 1

Good morning…. And so I start another book, Numbers.

“The Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tent of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, “Take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel, by clans, by fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male, head by head. From twenty years old and upward, all in Israel who are able to go to war, you and Aaron shall list them, company by company.”

Numbers 1:1-4

“All the persons belonging to Jacob who came into Egypt, who were his own descendants, not including Jacob’s son’s wives, were sixty-six persons in all. And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two. All the persons of the house of Jacob who came into Egypt were seventy.”

Genesis 46:26-27

“They time that the people of Israel lived in Egypt was 430 years.”

Exodus 12:40

“So all those listed of the people of Israel, by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, every man able to go to war in Israel– all those listed were 603,550”

Numbers 1:45-46

Wow did they grow…. In 431 years the people went from 70 people to 603,550. Now remember this is only the men of the people who were 20 years and older who could go to war. This did not include their wives or their children. Or any man who had a disability, whether be age/health/etc. So you could easily multiply that number by 3. That is a whole mess of people. No wonder the Egyptians were worried.

God sure did make them multiply.

Try to read a few verses from the Bible today!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
