Writing Job 4
Good morning. Chapter 4 begins with the first half of Eliphaz’s response to Job.
“If one ventures a word with you, will you be impatient? Yet who can keep from speaking?”
Job 4:2
Now there are times to talk and times I should not. I like how Eliphaz says, ‘yet who can keep from speaking?’ Many times this is when I shouldn’t talk. When my emotions are stirred inside of me and they seem to be boiling up, I should be silent. But do I? Eliphaz couldn’t either.
Just as Eliphaz is beginning, he is pointing out Job’s impatience, when he too is showing his impatience in his response to Job, he cannot help but speak. James says:
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger: for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
James 1:19
I have to go back chapter 2 and remember to be silent more as my friends are grieving and working out their emotions.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
