Writing Job 13
Good morning… As we continue what Job has to say to his three friends, I can’t help but giggle as he says:
“As for you, you whitewash with lies; worthless physicians are you all. Oh that you would keep silent, and it would be your wisdom!”
Job 13: 4-5
He calls them physicians (one who would heal, help, make feel better, to mend). These three are there to help him feel better, right? To assist him through his healing.. I don’t think he feels much better after the thoughts that they shared. I think he wants them to go back to the beginning when they sat in silence and fasting.
As I think about my past interactions with others, especially family members, there are so many times it would have been wiser to sit in silence than to offer the words that I did. My opinions of situations, what I would do, what they could do…. I should have just stayed silent.
What will I do next time? Sadly, I will probably open my mouth once again. Maybe, I will open it slower next time. It is hard to be god-like in this human body. I am so thankful for the forgiveness we get through Jesus as I work through my weaknesses.
God is so Good!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
