Writing James 1
Good morning. This chapter has so many lessons within it. Nearly, each paragraph has a thought that I can easily learn from. As hard as this decision is, I will bring verses 19-21 to you:
“Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
james 1:19-21
The Christians he was writing to were in a very high stressed situation. We would say they had good reason to react quickly and angrily. But is there ever a good reason to react in anger? They were reminded to slow down. There is so much wisdom in slowing down. As a Christian, a mother, and a wife, there are so many times that I should have slowed down in my response to situations. I will have to try to keep this closer to my heart and be slower in my responses. Taking heart to the situations and let His light shine instead.
