Writing Hebrews 7

Good morning. As I was writing this chapter, I got to thinking about this subject of the High Priest. It was a role passed down, generation to generation. From what I can see there was only one High Priest at a time. It was passed down to the next one who qualified, they had to be free of defects and in the blood line. The High Priest made sacrifices for the sins, interceding for himself and the people.

“The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:23-25

The ‘he’ in these verses is Jesus. Jesus is the high priest forever as stated in the previous chapter and this chapter. In the past, the priests would die, therefore passing down the priesthood, but since Jesus lives forever and will not die, the priesthood will never be passed down. Jesus also made the ultimate sacrifice, a sacrifice that no other priest could make. I am so thankful for such a great High Priest. The only priest qualified to make intercession for us all.

He is the only savior.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
