Writing Genesis 42
Good morning…
Have you ever had remorse for something you did in the past? Something you could not change but it would come back to haunt you every now and then? I think Joseph’s brothers felt this.
“Then they said to one another, “In truth we are guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul, when he begged us and we did not listen. That is why this destress has come upon us.” And Reuben answered them, “Did I not tell you not to sin against the boy? But you did not listen. So now there comes a reckoning for his blood.”
genesis 42:21-22
The guilt they felt was still there years after what they had done to Joseph. They were never able to make peace with what they had done.
It is very important for me to repent of my sins, and make peace within myself and God for the things I have done. Sometimes I am even able to make peace with those who I sinned against but sometimes I am not. But peace needs to be found in my heart or else, I will be burdened for the rest of my life.
I am so thankful for Jesus, and through Him I can find peace.
