Writing Genesis 40
Good morning…
“And one night they both dreamed– the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison– each his own dream, and each dream with its own interpretation.”
genesis 40:5
Have you ever had a dream that when you woke up, you wondered if it meant anything? I have a few times. I would try to remember each part of it, until it began to fade away in my mind. Do my dreams mean anything? Probably not… But in this instant these dreams of the baker and cupbearer did. Not only did they have meaning but Joseph was there to interpret them. But did he interpret?
“They said to him, “We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them.” And Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Please tell them to me.”
genesis 40:8
Joseph knew that it was only God who could interpret the dream. So next time I wake up to an odd dream and want to know if it means anything, I need to let it go because only God knows if my dreams have a meaning.
