Writing Genesis 35
Good Evening..
“So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you and purify yourselves and change your garments. Then let us arise and go up to Bethel, so that I may make there an altar to the God who answers me in the day of my distress and has been with me where ever I have gone.” So they have to Jacob all the foreign gods that they had and the rings that were in their ears. Jacob hid them under the terebinth tree that was near Shechem.”
genesis 35:2-4
There are times in my life, I have to refocus my faith in God. I believe that this was a time for Jacob to not only refocus his faith, but to try to get his family and his people to also focus on God. There are times I need to change my actions, and start new actions. Other times I may need to change my environment around me. What ever I need to do, it is important to do it, no matter what it may be. My priority should be to focus on God. After all He has done for me, by sending His Son as a sacrifice for our sins, the least I can do is give Him my focus. I gotta work on that. 🙂
