Writing Genesis 14
Good morning…
“And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (He was priest of God Most High.) And he blessed him and said,
genesis 14:18-20
“Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
and blessed be God Most High,
who has delivered your enemies into your hand!”
And Abram gave him and tenth of everything.”
I wonder if Melchizedek knew how important Abram was at that time. God had already promised Abram the land to his descendants, and clearly God was with him during the battle. But did Melchizedek, God’s priest, know the full story.
I think Bera, king of Sodom, knew that there was something different about Abram when Abram turned down all of the goods from the battle.
Abram was not perfect and clearly made mistakes but there were times when his faith in God shined and I am sure others couldn’t help but notice.
