Writing Exodus 32
Good Afternoon….
“They have turned quickly out of the way that I commanded them.”
Exodus 32:8
Oh how quickly the people turned and decided to follow their own way. Well, you may not see 40 days as quick. Moses was on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights. In this time, they gave up on God and Moses, and decided to find their own gods. Sadly, their leader, Aaron, fell along with them. Even he wasn’t strong enough to wait for God and Moses.
How often do I get swayed? I can read a scripture and see that I need to be more prayerful, or more loving, or more forgiving. But then I seem to have forgotten about it an hour later, after I am distracted by the daily tasks. I feel at times I am no stronger than the people of Israel. Thankfully, I can turn back and start again. Some of the people of Israel didn’t get this opportunity, but some of them did.
The people of Israel had Moses to defend them. But I have someone better. I have Jesus.
God is so Good!!
