Writing Exodus 20

Good morning…

“And God spoke these words, saying,
“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
You shall have no other gods before me.”

exodus 20:1-3

Simple definition of gods in my dictionary app:
god: (n.) 1. any supernatural being worshipped as controlling some part of the world or some aspect of life or who is the personification of a force; deity; divinity; immortal; 2. a man of such superior qualities that he seems like a deity to other people; “he was a god among men”; 3. a material effigy that is worshipped; “money was his god”; idol; graven image; (v.) (obs) to treat as a god; to idolize. (adj.) (obs) good.

What do I put before God? Do I put anything before God? Do I have other gods? These are questions that I think I need to ask myself often. My life changes as time goes on. It is important to step back and see where I am, and to see if I have allowed myself to go off the path. This is the number one rule that I need to stay focused, “You shall have no other gods before me”.

Try to read a few verses today!!
