Writing Deuteronomy 21 and 22
Good afternoon…
“So you shall purge the evil from your midst”
deuteronomy 21:21, deuteronomy 22:21,22,24
As I see this phrase over and over, I think about how serious the consequences of sin were. The people were put to death in order to purge the evil from the people of Israel. I have to admit I don’t take sin that seriously. I think I keep things at an arms length and then wonder how come I was tempted to sin again. There are the ‘big’ sins that I do well to keep far from, like adultery and murder. But what about gossiping, unloving behavior, stubbornness, pride, looking the other way, etc. I could definitely do a better job purging…..
Try to read a few verses from the Bible today!!
