Writing Acts 12
Good morning. In this chapter, things happen that you almost have to see them to believe them. Even Peter had trouble believing what was happening as it was happening. “He did not know that what was being done by the angel was real but thought he was seeing a vision.” Every time I read the verse where Rhoda was so happy that she did not open the gate but ran to tell everyone, it makes me giggle. She was so excited, she forgot what she should have done. And then the others didn’t believe her when she told them he was at the gate.
I always envision Peter standing there knocking again and again, thinking ‘why didn’t she answer the door?’ Or maybe he knew why, and he stood there, smiling because she forgot to open the gate.
We can see the results of these amazing things that happened in verse 24, “But the word of God increased and multiplied.” God is so powerful.
