Writing 2 Timothy 1
Good morning, in this first chapter of this 2nd letter to Timothy, Paul mentions several people. The first 2:
“I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.”
Those who raised Timothy. He was blessed to have faithful family members who were able to share with him their faith. Some of us didn’t have this but we can find faithful women and men if we look around. These are not perfect people, but faithful people.
Paul also mentions Onesiphorus:
“May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains”
Onesiphorus searched for and found Paul, I would say he went the extra mile. So much so that Paul felt the need to mention it to Timothy.
Paul also mentioned two other people in this chapter:
“You are aware that all who are in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes.”
It is important for me to take note of those who are around me. Those whom I surround myself with, and those whom are placed around me. I am influenced one way or another by those who are around me. I can be influenced in good ways and bad. I can respond good and bad. But it is always important to take notice.
Most of all I need to surround myself in Jesus:
“Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.”
God is so Good!!
I hope you are having a wonderful day!!
