Writing 1 Kings 5
Good afternoon…
“King Solomon drafted forced labor out of all Israel, and the draft numbered 30.00 men. And he sent them to Lebanon, 10.000 a month in shifts. They would be a month in Lebanon and two months at home.”
1 Kings 5:13-14
“Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household. Each man had to make provision for one month in the year.”
1 Kings 4:7
We see Solomons organizing take shape, in chapter four the way the food is provided and here in chapter five the forced labor. These groups worked in one month increments. They were not working tirelessly day in and day out. Now, they did have to work for their king. But it looks like they also had time to care for their own in between. Interesting….
Try to read a few verses from the Bible today!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
