Writing Acts 27

Good morning. What an exciting chapter. It kept me anticipating what would happen next, even though I have read it before. I feel like writing it, slows it down so that I take in so much more than I do when I am reading through it.

As these 276 persons on the ship go through this journey, they suffer through these storms for fourteen days, no sun or stars to guide them, and feel they will die. Their only hope is to believe that Paul is right and they will live. After they were instructed to jump ship verse 44 says:

“And so it was that all were brought safely to land.”

Could you imagine traveling with him, through this experience, wouldn’t that make you believe in His God? It is amazing how many people were touched just by being around Paul.

One thing that I noticed as I wrote today, that may have gone unnoticed before, in verse 3, ‘Julius treated Paul kindly and gave him leave to go to his friends and be cared for.’ I could not tell for sure if this was on ship or before they set sail. But then I noticed in verse 27 that the writer (most likely Luke) uses the word ‘we’. I don’t think I ever thought about Luke traveling with Paul on the ship. But it does appear that the writer was with Paul on the ship. Just an interesting thing to notice.

I love finding new little things. I am so anxious for the last chapter in Acts. Do I wait for tomorrow? I guess we will see how my schedule is for the day.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
