Writing Luke 11 (3/22/2023)
Good morning. In this chapter, Jesus really begins to focus in on the Pharisees, after all they are following him around trying to antagonize him. While he was talking to them, a lawyer was offended and spoke up. I bet he regretted it as soon as he did it. Jesus really got on to them for all that they had done. These lawyers were putting impossible burdens on the people and so much more.
As I was writing, I noticed in verse 52 it really got a bit scary for me today.
“Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.”
They were preventing others from knowing God, knowing the Truth. That is a scary thought. I know that I should share the Word, but I also need to be careful not to hinder another person from hearing the Word. This can be done by my actions, my words, my life. I am so thankful for the bible to help guide me. I am also thankful for forgiveness for the times I have hindered others in the past.
