Writing Mark 14:1-31 (3/2/23)
Good morning. Today is a busy morning that got a bit busier. But I still wanted to get a little writing done, even if there is water flooding my basement. Time with God’s Word is more important. It helps me get my body and mind balanced. It is just what I needed because it definitely wasn’t balanced as I looked down at my wet floor.
This is a long chapter that begins to deal with some really hard times. Today I want to bring up denial. Peter’s denial. A man who has spent day after day with Jesus, seeing His miracles, hearing His teachings, heeding His warnings. And now Jesus tells him that he will deny Him. Peter cannot believe this. There is just no way…… But I already know what happens. Just as Jesus foretells, Peter denies Him.
So often, we may never know what we would do in certain situations. We often judge others saying, ‘I would never do that’. But we really don’t know what we would do until we are in that situation. We may find ourselves in the same position Peter ended up in, choking on our words and going away sorrowful. Let me be more careful in the future of the things that I say.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday!!
