Writing 2 Samuel 20
Good morning…
“Now there happened to be there a worthless man, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite. And he blew the trumpet and said, “We have no portion in David, and we have no inheritance in the son of Jesse; every man to his tents, O Israel!” So all the men of Israel withdrew from David and followed Sheba the son of Bichri. But the men of Judah followed their king steadfastly from the Jordan to Jerusalem.”
2 SAmuel 20:1-2
There are so many verses in the Bible that tell us to be careful for those who we follow. The Israelites followed a man who was called out as being worthless. They could have gone down right along with them if it wasn’t for the wise woman in verses 16 and following.
I need to be careful for who I am following and thankful for those who stand up for us when we are caught up in a mess.
