Writing 2 Samuel 6
Good morning…
“And David returned to bless his household. But Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David and said, “How the king of Israel honored himself today, uncovering himself today before the eyes of his servants’ female servants, as one of the vulgar fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!” And David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me above your father and above all his house, to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord— and I will celebrate before the Lord. I will make myself yet more contemptible than this, and I will be abased in your eyes. But by the female servants of whom you have spoken, by them I shall be held in honor.” And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death.“
2 samuel 6:20-23
I can not image being in Michal’s shoes. A woman who was raised a princess, married to David, then taken and married to another man. The man appeared to love her and followed as she was taken back to her first husband, David. Her father and brothers were killed and her first husband, David, was made king. As I read these verses in the Bible, I feel she had a bit of anger over the whole situation. Maybe she was still in mourning, whether for her father or her last husband, I will never know. Maybe she was mourning for the life she use to have compared to the life she currently had. Again, I will never know. But it does appear that it didn’t get much better.
It is hard to go through our life on this earth. Thankfully, we have the hope of things to come. Thankfully, we have Jesus who came to this earth, so that we can get to a better place.
Try to read a few verses from the Bible today!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
