Writing Song of Solomon 5

Good morning…

“I opened to my beloved, but my beloved had turned and gone. My soul failed me when he spoke. I sought him, but found him not; I called him, but he have no answer.”

song of solomon 5:6

Her beloved had come to her, but she hesitated to open the door. When she finally opened the door, he was gone. She was broken hearted. She had missed him. And when she looked for him, she did not find him.

This reminds me of my relationship with Christ. Jesus has come to me, and is standing at the door waiting for me to open it. His words are calling to me.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

revelation 3:20

I can either choose to open the door or find just one more thing to do before I open it. But if I wait a minute too late, I may loose my opportunity to salvation. I never know when I will run out of time, when my life on earth will be over. It would be so sad if I waited a minute too long to open the door to Jesus.

“Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks.”

Luke 12:35-36

So, I need to open that door and quit dragging my feet when He calls. Then I need to stay ready after that. So that when my days on this earth are over, I am ready to walk through the narrow gate to heaven.
