Writing Ecclesiastes 1

Good morning… I didn’t get my lesson finished yesterday due to computer issues but I am back and everything seems to be working.

“What does man gain by all the toil at which he toils under the sun?
A generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever.
The sun rises, and the sun goes down, and hastens to the place where it rises.
The wind blows to the south and goes around to the north;
around and around goes the wind, and on its circuits the wind returns.
All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full;
to the place where the streams flow, there they flow again.”

ecclesiastes 1:3-7

Solomon begins this book a bit on the dreary side. It definitely can put into perspective the things that really matter. All of the things I spend most of my time on is material. My home, my hobbies, studying on my latest interest. The world will continue without me no matter what I do today. The sun will rise and go down, the winds will blow, the streams and the sea will all be unaffected. Do I really make a difference anywhere?

Spiritually, I can make a difference. After this earth is no more, there will be a spiritual place. What I do here can affect whether I will be there, and maybe have some influence on another soul being there.

Don’t forget to read some scripture today!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today!!
