Writing Psalm 58-59

Good morning… The joy of singing. When I was younger I use to sing random songs that I made up in the moment. I would sing about cleaning, about the kids being crazy, about gardening. It didn’t matter what I was doing I could sing about it. As time went on, I slowing quit singing. I didn’t even realize I had stopped. Lately, as my body has begun to heal itself, I have found myself singing again around the house, silly songs made up in the moment. I am so glad that I am doing it again. A joyous sound that I didn’t even notice I was missing. (It made me smile when I heard my daughter doing this recently.)

As I read and write David’s words, I imagine him singing all the time.

“But I will sing of your strength: I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.
O my Strength, I will sing praises to you, for you, O God, are my fortress, the God who shows me steadfast love.”

Psalm 59:16-17

Singing is such an emotional thing. It can bring joy, tears, love, and even pain. Let me be like David and share my moments with God through singing.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
