Writing Psalm 39

Good morning.. This morning I get to write from a different view. I sit here at a friends cabin and enjoy the sounds of the frogs, the birds, and the boats. A cool breeze refreshes me physically and the words of God refreshes my soul inwardly. Such a wonderful feeling.

As i write and read Psalm 39, I find myself hushed.

“I said, “I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue;
I will guard my mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my presence.”
I was mute and silent; I held my peace to no avail, and my distress grew worse.
My heart became hot within me. As I mused, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:”

Psalm 39:1-3

I have felt this feeling too many times in my life. Sometimes toward those around me and sometimes toward God. As hard as I may try to stay silent, those coals within me begin to burn and usually is forced out. How they come out is most important. Sometimes I can control it and love can be seen from my words. Other times I speak rashly and later have to apologize, either for the words I said or how I said them. My tongue can be a source of love or a source of pain. I just have to keep working on it and hope it is a source of love more often than the other.

Thankfully, we are given a way of forgiveness in those times of weakness!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
