Writing Job 12

Good morning. Poor Job…. That is what I think as I go through this book.

“I am a laughingstock to my friends; I who called to God and he answered me, a just and blameless man, am a laughingstock.”

Job 12:4

As I read this verse, I can see his sadness and how he was trying to work through his feelings.

“Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?”

Job 12:9

Job was a bit confused on who had struck him. But can you blame him when he speaks the truth in verse 10?

“In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.”

Job 12:10

In Job’s mind since the Lord has the life of all in His hand then only the Lord could do this.. It does make sense in our simple minds. As we read this book we see that God did not do this to Job, Satan did. We have a little window to look through that Job did not have.

I need to remember that as I go through life. I cannot look through the window to see why things go the way they do, whether good or bad. I try to always believe that no matter the situation, good can come from it. I just have to look for it. A hard childhood that helped form me into the adult I am now. In our son’s death, I could see the kids who decided to follow God. In my mother’s illness, I see how caring for her helped me to have an added purpose as I was grieving our son. Also, as caring for my mother, we were brought closer together even though it was a hard situation. So many other situations that one might think of as bad, but I can see glimmers of light..

Look for those glimmers of light!!

God is so Good!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
