Writing Job 8

Good morning. In chapter 8 Bildad tries to answer Job’s response. Sadly, Bildad doesn’t do any better at supporting his friend Job.

“Behold, God will not reject a blameless man, nor take the hand of evildoers.”

Job 8:20

Bildad had failed at interpreting what was happening to Job. He jumps to the conclusion that it was something that Job and his children have done against God. It is not clear what Job’s children were doing, but it is clear that Job was a blameless and upright man. A man who feared God and turned away from evil. Bildad even goes as far as telling him what to do to make it right.

“If you will seek God and plead with the Almighty for mercy, if you are pure and upright, surely then he will rouse himself for you and restore your rightful habitation.”

Job 8:5-6

So often, I tend to look at a situation and try to figure out why one is going through the things they are going through. Trying to justify and think if they would just do this or that, then things would be better. Who am I to try to fix another’s problems? Who am I to try to figure out why they are in a situation? I have to be careful so that I don’t become a friend like Bildad. Sadly, I have too many times.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
