Writing Philippians 4

Good morning. The last chapter of another book. These smaller books seem to come and go so quickly. This one was a good one if you need to refocus on the positive and joy. The verses I want to bring out today are some of my favorites:

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and hear and seen in me— practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”

What do I need to do for the ‘God of peace’ to be with me? This puts my thoughts in my hands and in my control. Paul was in prison and had already suffered many things at this time, yet he continued to focus on God and on positive things; things that were good and uplifting. I can learn from his example.

In later verses of this chapter he also states:
“for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know who to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Paul made the best of all of his situations, whether he was in suffering or in plenty. My joy and my peace is inside of me, given to me from God the Father.

God is so Good!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!

  1. One of my WEI students said “If you trust in God, He will give you a quiet peace that comes from ending the civil war inside of you.” I just thought that went along with your last comment. You did a great job today.
