Writing Acts 5
Good morning, I hope everyone had a good weekend. It is amazing how focused the apostles are, never letting anything stop them from teaching about Jesus. When they were brought in before the council, a Pharisee named Gamaliel spoke up concerning the situation. He said:
“for if this plan or this undertaking is of man, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You might even be found opposing God!”
Such a true statement. There may be things that we don’t agree with and want to make a big fuss over it but in the end, it too will pass. I think of the many things I have been ‘passionate’ about over the years. Many were just fads I went through, but they seemed so important in the moment that I wanted to share them with everyone. Eventually they faded for one reason or another. So, before I get worked up over something I need to remember what Gamaliel said and just sit back.
One thing that has been true since the day Gamaliel said this, is that the teachings of the apostles are still being taught today:
“they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.”
Let us keep teaching others about Jesus.
