Writing John 19

Good morning.

Such a hard chapter. As I began to write about what Jesus had to go through, He was flogged, a twisted crown of thorns placed on His head, with a purple robe placed over His open wounds. Then mocked and hit before all to see… This was just the beginning.

As I got down to verse 4 and onward, where Pilate brings Jesus out again before the people, beaten, bruised, with the crown on his head, and robe around him. My mind still had a ray of hope that the people will have pity and let Jesus go. I have read these words so many times, and now I have written all four accounts of his crucifixion. I know what will happen, but for some strange reason I wanted to see the people change. I wanted to have hope in man. Such an odd thing because I known what happens. I know what needed to happen. I know what was foretold in Scripture, I know what God had already said would happen, what Jesus said would happen. But for that moment as Jesus was brought forth, I had hoped that the people would have compassion.

It is interesting where my mind goes sometimes as I write the words of the bible. As I scribble and mess up the words and try to fix them. The story didn’t change, and will never change. Jesus had to die to save human souls. To give us eternal life. Such a wonderful gift from a terrible end. (That is another lesson, the good things that can come out of tragedy).

If you haven’t read this chapter in a while it is a good one.

God is so Good!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!
