Writing March 9 (2/22-23/2023)
Good morning. It took me 2 days for this chapter. I had an appointment and busy day yesterday so I started and decided to finish it today.
There are several things I could bring up in this chapter, but I think I want to focus on pride. In the last half of this chapter Jesus talks about who is greatest, it isn’t who we would think it is. He also talks about if our hand, foot, or eye sins cut it off. These are both things that we do not find natural in our world.
We work hard to be the best at what we do. Allowing another to do better, and for us to serve them is weakness in our world. Also, to make ourselves uncomfortable (cutting off our hand) (giving up something we feel is part of us) to reach a goal, just doesn’t seem right. We should be able to keep everything in comfort no matter what, right? Well, that is how I find myself living most of the time. I don’t think I know service and sacrifice as well as I should. I am going to have to ponder on this more. Pride… How does it creep into the little things??
